Birthday cake, soccer game, and a trunk or treat!

What a wild few days we have had!!! Friday morning we headed into Midland. We had a lot of things planned for the day first shopping for some winter clothes for Cooper, lunch with two of my sisters, hair cuts for the boys, grocery shopping, and tires for the Highlander. We ended the night at my moms house and invited all of my family and Richards family to celebrate Richards birthday a few days early while we were in town. We left Midland early Saturday morning to head back to Hobbs for Allison's 11am soccer game. Richards parents and sister and brother in law came to watch the soccer game. The girls won there game!! After the game we joined Richards parents and sister and brother in law for lunch!! Richards parents stopped by our house so that Richards mom could fix Cooper's Halloween costume. After Richards parents left it was pumpkin carving time!! Cooper wanted nothing to do with cleaning the pumpkin but Allison was such a great helper. We let Richard finish the carving so I could get the kiddos ready for our church trunk or treat. The kids had a lot of fun and the weather was pretty nice during the trunk or treat. After the trunk or treat Allison won cupcakes from the cake walk, and Cooper loved getting his face painted! What a fun weekend we had!!!

Lamb

April of 2005 my mom and I went to the Kohls grand opening. My mom purchased a few things for Allison to keep at her house when Allison would come visit, included in her purchase that day was a stuffed lamb. Fast forward to Allison's first birthday party. Allison found lamb at my moms house and since that day they have been inseparable. Allison is know on Lamb number 3. We have lost lamb a few times. But this Christmas marks two years since we have not lost lamb! I always thought I needed to write a post about lamb since he is such a big part of Allison's life. Little lamb is a seasoned traveler he has been to CA and back many times. Lamb has had some work done, poor guy has needed a few stitches. Lamb also enjoys dressing up for specials occasion, like Halloween. But most of all Lamb loves his mommy and rarely leaves her side. If you know Allison you know the love she has for her lil lamb, I joke that lamb will go off to college with her someday. So I thought I would share just a few pictures with Lamb and see if you can point him out.

Seahorse

Cooper has had his seahorse since birth. Mr Seahorse has had his batteries changed numerous times and survived a big move to New Mexico. When I saw Cooper laying with his seahorse today it reminded me of the picture when he was a baby. I thought I would share and post both pictures. Cant believe how big Cooper is getting.

Cake and Brownies

The kids and I have been enjoying baking together these past two days. They love to help gather the ingredients, and I love to teach them how to cook or bake. Baking is probably one of my favorite hobbies. I enjoying trying new recipes and making old favorites and I especially enjoy the time I spend baking with my kiddos. We made a chocolate cake Sunday evening and before dinner we made Reese's Pieces brownies. I really miss my baking buddy my sister Courtney. I cant wait for Thanksgiving, it is one of my favorite holiday's mainly because of all the cooking it requires. Thanksgiving is almost a month away!!!!!

Soccer and Milkshakes!

We have two soccer games left this season and then we head into Midland for the turkey shoot out tournament in November! Our Saturdays game was a pretty easy win. The other team scored one goal at the very end, we won 10-1, Allison scored 2 goals!! Richards mother in law and sister in law weren't able to make it to the game they were in Dallas shopping for my niece's wedding dress. But my Father in law drove into town for the game, Cooper sure was glad to have a buddy to play with. After the soccer game we took Richards dad out for lunch, it was great food and we really enjoyed his company! Had to take a picture of the kids slurping down a chocolate milkshake!

Music and candy!!

We were invited to a Halloween inspired music group this morning! There were a lot of kids and they were all dressed in there costumes. The kids got to enjoy some Halloween themed songs and then go around the circle and collect candy! I think Cooper enjoyed himself, he was a bit quiet until it was time to for the candy! When we left and went to the car Cooper was way more talkative telling me how much fun he had. I am amazed at how many friends Cooper has made here in Hobbs and we are lucky enough to be able to visit with his friends often!!

Friendship

I love days that my kiddos get along and enjoy playing with each other. With the cooler weather these past few days the kids have been playing more indoors. Some days the kids don't always get along but those days are rare. I love when I hear them playing together happily. I remember those first few days of Cooper's life when Allison asked me "Mom when is he gonna get up and play with me." Those days are gone, and Cooper has been mobile for some time and now he has an opinion too!! I love how Allison puts up with Cooper and plays on his level. It makes my heart swell when I see them enjoying each other!

Little Women

Today while I was folding laundry as I flipped through the channels I ran across one of my all time favorite movies, Little Women. I laughed and I cried, but mostly I enjoyed the movie. It has been years since I have seen the movie. As I watched Little Women I was reminded of my life. The movie reminded me of my own relationship with my sisters, I am one of four sisters. Each of us are completely different. Although we are different that doesn't divided us. As an adult I can rely on my sisters and they have become my greatest confidants and dearest friends. I honestly think I would be lost with out these important relationships in my life. Each one of my sisters hold a special place in my heart. On more than one occasion I have thanked my mother for giving me my sisters, it is a relationship that I cherish and feel so blessed to have.

GAME NIGHT!

I don't really have any pictures to document this besides one with Allison and her friend Britton. But tonight we were invited to a dinner and game night at out friends house! Four couples and several children equals great food, even better company, and a card game! What a blast we had! Although I am sure we over stayed our welcome the night ended with us ladies chatting and the boys playing video games. Kids played so great together, there were a total of 8 kiddos ranging in ages of 10 to 2. The kids kept pleading with us to stay longer! Richard had such a great time he was plotting are next get together on the drive home. I am so thankful we have made some friends here in Hobbs. Allison told me "Aren't you glad we moved to Hobbs, we have so many friends here."

Fall!!!

Yesterday I drove into Midland to celebrate my mothers birthday. My sister's and our kids meet at my moms house for lunch and my mom made her famous roast! We enjoyed our time together by playing cards and looking at old pictures my mom found. I love getting together with my family, we enjoy each other so much and the laughter is just contagious! It was nice to catch up with everybody as the kids played. A couple hours after lunch we decided to take the kids to the pumpkin patch a "Sister" tradition!!! It was just beautiful weather and not a sole there. All the kiddos got to pick pumpkins and enjoy the scare crows and hay! Most the kids put up with the pictures we wanted to take. Cooper James was so not in the mood for pictures!! After the pumpkin patch we took all the kids to the park. Before heading out of town we stopped at my brother and sister in laws for a quick visit, my kiddos would have never forgiven me if I hadn't! Then a short visit to HEB and we headed out of town! I am so thankful we had the opportunity to visit Midland for the day, next time we definitely have to make a weekend out of it!

Mother daughter time

Today after church Richard had to go into work. The kids and I enjoyed an afternoon together. When Cooper went down for a nap Allison and I were able to spend some time together. Allison wanted to watch the little mermaid movie with me, she recently has gotten into this move again. I will never forget when Allison was 2 and a half and she was so into little mermaid, we use to watch it everyday for like months! As we watched the movie Allison and I talked. Allison would tell me her favorite part and would ask me my favorite part. Then we talked about the scary parts of the movie. Allison would go on to quote the characters lines. And at one point Allison told me something "Mom did you know that the prince in the Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and Sleeping beauty they all kinda look alike." I enjoyed are time together and when the movie was over and I went to talk to Richard about something before I left I kissed Allison on her forehead and she said to me "Mom kisses last forever."

Spending time with just Allison was priceless, and reminded me of the weekly mother daughter time we use to spend together by ourselves. I think it is time to pick up that tradition again. I thought I would add my favorite picture of Allison and I.

Soccer!!

We started off our Saturday morning with a soccer game. Luckily we won, our girls heads just were not in the game and they hardly had control of the ball. After the game we received our soccer photos!! For lunch my in laws joined us at a pizza joint here, the kids had a blast and it was nice to have adult conversations. We took a trip out to Walmart for a few things and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the Halloween section. We ended our day with making S'mores and watching the third transformers.

Friday night Football

Last week Allison had her cheer leading camp in preparation for today's football game. The girls were suppose to buddy with a Varsity or JV cheerleader during the game and cheer until half time. Allison was so excited for the game and had a lot of friends that would be cheering with her. Before the game Allison asked me to curl her hair and told me not to forget to take pictures. I was surprised to see so many people at the game. We were lucky enough to sit next to our friends during the game as we watched our daughters cheer. It was perfect weather and the Hobbs football team was playing pretty decent. Cooper enjoyed plenty of snacks throughout the game. We stayed an half hour after Allison was done cheering and the kids were able to play with there friends.

Rock and roll day..

Allison came home from school talking about how the next day at school was going to be rock and roll day, where you ride your scooters or bikes to school day. I am thinking what, how does rock and roll have to do with riding your scooter to school. I ask her if she got a note sent home about it and she said her teacher didn't have time to make the copies. I am wondering what to do, so I call the school and the secretary informs me it is walk and roll day tomorrow. An annual event held around the world to promote safe walking, bicycling, and scooter to school. Of course Allison was all over wanting to ride her scooter to school! So we got up a little early today so we could spare the extra ten minutes so Allison could ride her scooter to school and of course I had to capture a few pictures!
