Half birthday

Cooper James is 3 and a half today! I always think about half birthdays, only because I have a summer birthday and never really celebrated my actual birthday with friends because there was no school. Allison's half birthday is November 4th, which makes her birthday a little over three months away and I will have a 7 year old!!! I have been thinking back to when my kiddos were babies. Some of my favorite memories of Cooper as a new born was the first few weeks of his life. Trying to get to know him and staying up in the middle of the night watching the Olympics. When I think of Allison as a new born I think of the many phone calls I had with my Aunt trying to figure my new little one out. Those first few months I became a mother. I am really excited to see what this new baby will bring to our lives. Now for Mr Cooper James, I demand him to stay 3 forever! It is my favorite age. I absolutely love communicating with Cooper right know. And I am remind almost daily how much he is like his sister when it comes to there thought process and intelligence. He tells me several times a day how much he loves me, and doesn't mind that I kiss him dozens of times a day. My Alli-cat has been sick for a several days and had me a little worried. After a doctors visit which was basically pointless but reassured me she was going to be fine, Allison is on the mends. She seems to be back to her self!! I laugh as I listening to my kiddos playing the Wii, Cooper wants to add a mustache to his character.

Baby talk 2

Let me see your belly.
I cant see the baby?
What does the baby look like?
Can you open the baby, so I can see it?
How do you get the baby out?
What does a hospital look like?
Can babies walk?
Cooper is extremely curious about the baby. I really enjoy the fact that he is old enough to understand and question things. It reminds me of when I was pregnant with Cooper and Allison was so inquisitive. I love answering Cooper's question's. This picture is courtesy of Mr CJ who took it of himself.

Cupcake time

Allison loves to bake. Honestly she ask me to cook or bake something almost every single day! She loves to make brownies, cookies, and cake. But my lil Alli-cat loves cupcakes! We made chocolate on chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles! Allison is so serious about helping from start to finish, she even watches the timer! Cooper is completely and totally uninterested and actually he didn't eat even one! Allison on the other hand has had several!!!

Pregnancy update

16 weeks and counting!! I had a doctors appointment this past Thursday. Cooper and I drove into Midland for a few hours for the appointment and to have lunch with my mom and sisters. It was an interesting appointment I nearly fainted while the nurse took my blood pressure! I normally have low blood pressure but gezz I have been so dizzy this pregnancy. I was also scolded for losing 5 pounds and put on nausea medicine. I seriously thought I could push through this morning sickness, but I seriously couldn't eat because it just came back up. There is some concern with my back injuries from the car accident, so my doctor is keeping a close eye on that. But the sweetest moment was listening to our babies heart beat. Words cant explain how comforting that was for me. I go back in less then three weeks and then he will schedule the ultrasound for the next week!

A Honor Roll!!

My Alli-cat made the A honor roll!! Allison is very serious about her school work. When it comes to studying for her spelling words she is so worried about it, that if she is not getting the words she insist that I need to practice with her more. Allison has never made lower than a one hundred on her spelling test! On her report card Allison even received special notes from her teacher, the music teacher, and the PE teacher! So proud of my little girl! To reward her for her grades with some of the money she earned herself plus what mom and dad pitched in Allison bought a pair of roller blades!!

Baby talk

This morning Cooper and I had a conversation about the baby. We had just dropped off Allison off at school. I went to sit on the couch and Cooper grabbed his blanket and joined me. He began to talk to me about random things and then the conversation turned to the baby.
C~"Mom, we have Dad, Mommy, Alli, and Cooper"
M~"And the baby"
C~ "Where do you buy babies?"
M~ "You don't buy babies, they grow in mommies belly."
C~ "Is the baby in your head?"
M~"The baby is in my belly"
C~ "Can the baby come out today?"
M~ "No the baby needs to keep growing."
C~ "So you have two babies in your belly?"
M~ "No, there is only one baby in my belly."
C~ "No, you had baby Alli in your belly and baby Cooper in your belly"
M~ "That's right, and know we have this new baby in my belly."
C~ "Your weird."
M~ "Your silly."
C~ "Everyone one is weird."

Sweet words!

Last week both my kiddos said sweet things that were definitely blog worthy!! I was sitting on the couch folding a bunch of towels and Cooper walked up to me climbed in my lap, and this was our conversation.
Cooper~ "Mommy"
Me~ "Yes "
Cooper~ "Your mine"
Me~ "What Cooper"
Cooper~"Your mine mommy", "Mommy"
Me~ "Yes"
Cooper~ "I love you"
Allison was watching Icarly and I was helping Cooper pick up blocks in his room. I hear this conversation with Allison and Richard.
Allison~ "Freddy's mom is crazy!"
Richard~ "Why do you say that?"
Allison~ "She is just weird, I am glad she is not my mom."
Richard~"Why"
Allison~ "Well, because my mom is just perfect for me!"

More Snow?!

This huge snow storm was predicted for West Texas and our area. I guess I was a little hesitant to believe it. But holy cow we got tons of snow, 10 inches to be exact! The morning started out pretty normal there was a slight cover of snow or ice really. I dropped Allison off at school and a few hours later I see outside a steady stream of snow coming down!! I guess the day passed and I never looked out again, and it was time to pick up Allison. Boy was I shocked when I had trouble pulling out of the garage! The town was covered in snow! Allison was super excited to play in snow, when daddy got home after dinner they went out in the snow. I think thirty minutes passed and I wondered what was taking them so long! By this time Cooper had fallen asleep for the night, because the stinker missed his nap. I think Richard and Allison were outside for well over an hour building an igloo!
The next morning I got a call from Allison school stating that the had canceled school for the day! I was making breakfast and Allison screamed she was so excited to stay home. We had a fun day together drinking hot chocolate, making a cake, and playing out in snow. I have to mention Cooper James actually wanted to go outside, which is a rare occasion! The first snow we got about a month ago, Cooper literally went outside and came back in, telling me it was way cold! And then when we got snow during Christmas he straight up refused to go outside!

Sunbeam!!

This past Sunday my lil guy became a Sunbeam!! For some of my followers who don't know what a Sunbeam is I will explain. Children are in Nursery from the age of 18 months until the age three. At the beginning of the year (in January) you move up to regular Sunday school which we call Primary. The three year old class is called Sunbeams. This is a big deal because in nursery it is not entirely structured but in Sunbeams the children learn an hour lesson and have to sit in a chair for two hours. I was really emotional probably because of hormones. But I remember when Allison became a Sunbeam and I wasn't so worried about it because I was a Primary teacher then and could keep my eye on her. Things were a little chaotic on the first Sunday of the year, Cooper was a little hesitant asking me "Hold me mommy!" eventually he calmed down after sitting in daddy's lap for awhile. I had to leave and teach a lesson to my teenage class. Richard stayed for a bit and then left Cooper on his own. So proud of my little guy, Cooper is getting so big! I was looking at Allison and Cooper standing together and wow Cooper really had a little growth spurt this last week! I cant help but see him as my baby, and treat him like my baby!

AR Run

This past Friday Allison was eligible to participate in the Accelerated Reader Run! In First grade the children start working on Accelerated Reader. The program consist of students reading books which allocate certain points and then take computer test over the book. If the child passes the computer test they receive the points. Allison received enough points to participate in her first AR run! I have to mention only a third of her class was eligible to participate. I can not explain how excited my little girl was about running! I received a note home explaining the time of the event and a reminder from Allison the day of! I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up at the school and the parking lot was full, parents filled the halls to watch there kiddos! Luckily I got a great seat right at the front and was able to record a video of Allison. The Principal announces the name of the participant and the child runs from the start of the hall and comes out from the back of the hall back to the cafeteria. First grade started off the program and I could see Allison in line, the fifth person. I have to mention my Alli-cat had a smile from ear to ear and boy did she run fast!!!

Saturday Adventures

Saturday morning we left super early for a day trip to Midland. On the agenda: My niece's birthday party, hair cut for the boys, a visit to Grandma's and Granddad's, Bahama bucks, and the mall. A note worthy mention when the car battery died after I left it in auxiliary mode for 45 minutes, while Allison watch a movie on the DVD and I didn't realize the day time lights were on. Which put us exactly an hour late to the birthday party! It was a nice visit to Midland we actually saw everyone in our family! Oh and I already have pregnant brain and forgot my camera at my sisters so the only pictures I have are of Allison while she got her nails done.

Ruthie RIP

Yesterday marked the year anniversary of my Aunts passing. For those of you who don't know I was really close to my Aunt, we had more of a mother daughter relationship. I spent every summer with her in California since I was six, for well over twenty years! I even visited her twice while pregnant. This special women had such an amazing impact on my life. My Aunt was an wonderful example of a true servant of the lord. She gave so much of her time to others. In her callings, or through friendships she was always someone you could count on. I spoke to her everyday on the phone and our yearly summer visits meant the world to me. She shared in every aspect of my life and I in hers. I have often said it doesn't feel like my life with out her in it. All of my childhood memories involve her, you wouldn't think we lived states away as involved as she was in my life. As prominent as she was in my life she was as equally present in my children's. There was not a Christmas, birthday, or special event that she wasn't some how involved in. I feel blessed to have many special memories of her, although I am saddened not to be able to share things with her know. Not a single day passes that I don't think of her and the impact she had on my life. Never forgotten, RIP my dear Aunt Ruthie.

Park

While Richard was off the weather was pretty nice so we took the kids to the park a couple of times so Allison could ride her new scooter! She loves her Santa present so much and can ride her electric scooter wonderfully. Cooper also loved visiting the park he enjoyed rolling down the hill. It was really nice to see the sun and feel the warmth.

New YEAR!

Richard had Friday through Monday off and we decided to stay in town for the holiday. For new years eve we rented a bunch of movie and bought two new Wii games. We also stopped by the store and picked up some steaks, lobster, and ingredients to make a cake! Also we bought this little new years package with a hat, blower, and a pooper. Allison made a place mat for everybody with there goodies. It was a nice quite day and night. Cooper and I feel asleep a little before midnight but Richard and Allison stayed up and counted down and blew the lil poppers!
