More Snow?!

This huge snow storm was predicted for West Texas and our area. I guess I was a little hesitant to believe it. But holy cow we got tons of snow, 10 inches to be exact! The morning started out pretty normal there was a slight cover of snow or ice really. I dropped Allison off at school and a few hours later I see outside a steady stream of snow coming down!! I guess the day passed and I never looked out again, and it was time to pick up Allison. Boy was I shocked when I had trouble pulling out of the garage! The town was covered in snow! Allison was super excited to play in snow, when daddy got home after dinner they went out in the snow. I think thirty minutes passed and I wondered what was taking them so long! By this time Cooper had fallen asleep for the night, because the stinker missed his nap. I think Richard and Allison were outside for well over an hour building an igloo!
The next morning I got a call from Allison school stating that the had canceled school for the day! I was making breakfast and Allison screamed she was so excited to stay home. We had a fun day together drinking hot chocolate, making a cake, and playing out in snow. I have to mention Cooper James actually wanted to go outside, which is a rare occasion! The first snow we got about a month ago, Cooper literally went outside and came back in, telling me it was way cold! And then when we got snow during Christmas he straight up refused to go outside!

Sunbeam!!

This past Sunday my lil guy became a Sunbeam!! For some of my followers who don't know what a Sunbeam is I will explain. Children are in Nursery from the age of 18 months until the age three. At the beginning of the year (in January) you move up to regular Sunday school which we call Primary. The three year old class is called Sunbeams. This is a big deal because in nursery it is not entirely structured but in Sunbeams the children learn an hour lesson and have to sit in a chair for two hours. I was really emotional probably because of hormones. But I remember when Allison became a Sunbeam and I wasn't so worried about it because I was a Primary teacher then and could keep my eye on her. Things were a little chaotic on the first Sunday of the year, Cooper was a little hesitant asking me "Hold me mommy!" eventually he calmed down after sitting in daddy's lap for awhile. I had to leave and teach a lesson to my teenage class. Richard stayed for a bit and then left Cooper on his own. So proud of my little guy, Cooper is getting so big! I was looking at Allison and Cooper standing together and wow Cooper really had a little growth spurt this last week! I cant help but see him as my baby, and treat him like my baby!

AR Run

This past Friday Allison was eligible to participate in the Accelerated Reader Run! In First grade the children start working on Accelerated Reader. The program consist of students reading books which allocate certain points and then take computer test over the book. If the child passes the computer test they receive the points. Allison received enough points to participate in her first AR run! I have to mention only a third of her class was eligible to participate. I can not explain how excited my little girl was about running! I received a note home explaining the time of the event and a reminder from Allison the day of! I was pleasantly surprised when I showed up at the school and the parking lot was full, parents filled the halls to watch there kiddos! Luckily I got a great seat right at the front and was able to record a video of Allison. The Principal announces the name of the participant and the child runs from the start of the hall and comes out from the back of the hall back to the cafeteria. First grade started off the program and I could see Allison in line, the fifth person. I have to mention my Alli-cat had a smile from ear to ear and boy did she run fast!!!

Saturday Adventures

Saturday morning we left super early for a day trip to Midland. On the agenda: My niece's birthday party, hair cut for the boys, a visit to Grandma's and Granddad's, Bahama bucks, and the mall. A note worthy mention when the car battery died after I left it in auxiliary mode for 45 minutes, while Allison watch a movie on the DVD and I didn't realize the day time lights were on. Which put us exactly an hour late to the birthday party! It was a nice visit to Midland we actually saw everyone in our family! Oh and I already have pregnant brain and forgot my camera at my sisters so the only pictures I have are of Allison while she got her nails done.

Ruthie RIP

Yesterday marked the year anniversary of my Aunts passing. For those of you who don't know I was really close to my Aunt, we had more of a mother daughter relationship. I spent every summer with her in California since I was six, for well over twenty years! I even visited her twice while pregnant. This special women had such an amazing impact on my life. My Aunt was an wonderful example of a true servant of the lord. She gave so much of her time to others. In her callings, or through friendships she was always someone you could count on. I spoke to her everyday on the phone and our yearly summer visits meant the world to me. She shared in every aspect of my life and I in hers. I have often said it doesn't feel like my life with out her in it. All of my childhood memories involve her, you wouldn't think we lived states away as involved as she was in my life. As prominent as she was in my life she was as equally present in my children's. There was not a Christmas, birthday, or special event that she wasn't some how involved in. I feel blessed to have many special memories of her, although I am saddened not to be able to share things with her know. Not a single day passes that I don't think of her and the impact she had on my life. Never forgotten, RIP my dear Aunt Ruthie.

Park

While Richard was off the weather was pretty nice so we took the kids to the park a couple of times so Allison could ride her new scooter! She loves her Santa present so much and can ride her electric scooter wonderfully. Cooper also loved visiting the park he enjoyed rolling down the hill. It was really nice to see the sun and feel the warmth.

New YEAR!

Richard had Friday through Monday off and we decided to stay in town for the holiday. For new years eve we rented a bunch of movie and bought two new Wii games. We also stopped by the store and picked up some steaks, lobster, and ingredients to make a cake! Also we bought this little new years package with a hat, blower, and a pooper. Allison made a place mat for everybody with there goodies. It was a nice quite day and night. Cooper and I feel asleep a little before midnight but Richard and Allison stayed up and counted down and blew the lil poppers!
